Joyce A. Page Bentley, 83, of South Waverly, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Sayre House. Joyce was born in Sayre, on Aug. 27, 1929 the daughter of Burt and Julia Merrill Page. She was a graduate of Sayre High School class of 1947. Joyce was employed in the housekeeping department of the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for 11 years until her retirement. Joyce loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and going for walks.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gene M. and Sharon Bentley, David J. and Marlene Bentley, Stephen N. and Frances Bentley and Ken A. and Kim Bentley, all of South Waverly, James P. and Colleen Bentley of Sayre; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Michael F. Page of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Mary Agnes Murray of South Waverly; brothers-in-law, Leo Bentley Sr. of South Waverly and Bernard Bentley of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Bentley on July 31, 2007, a granddaughter, Suzanne Bentley and brothers, Philip, Richard and Louis Page.
A private family funeral and committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, with Pastor Diane Bentley of the East Canton United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens. There are no calling hours.
