ARTHUR BENSON DIES SUDDENLY; Bank Employee, Son of Berry Benson, Found Dead in Bed: Arthur Benson, long an employee of the Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust Company, died of a heart attached at his residence, 306 Georgia Avenue, Wednesday night. The family discovered his death early yesterday morning. Mr. Benson, who had been in ill health for some time, died sitting up in bed, it was learned, He fulfilled his duties at the bank Wednesday, and at that time seemed to be in good health. The passing was therefore a shock to his relatives and many friends. Mr. Benson, the son of the late Confederate veteran, Berry Benson, was born in 1870, and entered the employ of the Georgia Railroad Bank in 1887. His rise in the bank began with runner and went through the various stages of bookkeeper, transit clerk, and other administrative positions to the executive position of head teller. Widely popular in both his personal and business life, Mr. Benson was one of Augusta's most prominent citizens. He was unmarried. Mr. Benson leaves to survive him one brother, Charles G. Benson of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Misses Jeanie and Olive Benson of North Augusta, and Mrs. Eugene Rosen of Washington, DC, and three aunts, Miss Clara Benson and Mrs. S.G. Rook of Atlanta, and Mrs. E.P.H. Ruland of North Augusta. He was a member of First Christian Church. The funeral services will be held from the residence Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Interment will take place in Sunset Hill Cemetery, North Augusta. [Pallbearers given.]
