Mac H. Benson was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Baldwin Co., GA. He married Lena Mae Broome in Baldwin Co., GA. He died Mar. 6, 2007 in Milledgeville, GA at the age of 83, and was buried at Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Benson, a native of Gwinnett Co., lived in Milledgeville most of his life. He was a retired inspector with the Georgia Dept. of Agriculture and a retired cattle farmer. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, and the GA Cattleman's Association. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in McIntyre. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Broome Benson, parents Byrd Clifton Benson and Letha Augusta Bagwell, brother Myron Craig Benson, sisters Delores Breedlove Tribble and Annelle Benson Ivey. Survivors include daughters Brenda Land and husband Ralph, Kay Stasney, all of Milledgeville; brothers, Carmen Benson and wife Deborah and Lyman Benson and wife Phyllis, and sister-in-laws Mary Alice Benson and Joan Broome all of Milledgeville, grandchildren: Kevin Stasney and wife Melissa, Bart Pennington and wife Jennifer, Barrie Kay Pennington Davis and husband Paul and Mark Land and wife Lori. 5 great-grandchildren: Ava Rae Stasney, Anna Kate Davis, Faythe Land, Mark Land Jr. and Jackson Land, several nieces and nephews also survive.
