Funeral services for Albin C. Benson of Sterling will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Ivan E. Rundus, D.D. officiating. Burial follows at the Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Benson, a former farmer rancher, died this morning in a Sterling nursing home. He was 87. He was born June 28, 1897, in Niobrara, Neb., the son of Ben and Martha Larson Benson. After settling in the Kelly area, Mr. Benson married Ilo Roys in Denver on July 21, 1934. The couple farmed in Kelly until his retirement in 1964. From there, the Bensons moved to Brownsville, Texas, in 1970. The couple returned to Sterling in 1983. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, Texas. Mr. Benson is survived by his widow, Mrs. lb Benson of Sterling; two sons, Curtis Benson and Clifford Benson both of Sterling; one daughter, Shirley Briggs of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
