WELSH -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel H. Benoit, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, from Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church.The Revs. Arthur Warren and Herbert May and Bishop Jude Speyrer will officiate. Interment will be in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church Mausoleum under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m.; and from 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Benoit died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, in a Houston hospital.A native of Cecilia, she lived in Welsh since 1945. She retired after teaching home economics for 35 years at Welsh High School. She was a member of the Jefferson Davis Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include one son, Robert Benoit of Welsh; two daughters, Frances Benoit of Houston and Genevieve Benoit of Welsh; one brother, Roland Hebert of Breaux Bridge; and two sisters, Genevieve and Marie Louise Hebert, both of Breaux Bridge.
