Aveline Bohman Bennion, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, at the age of 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday December 2, 2007 of Natural Causes. Aveline exemplified a life filled with service, devoted to her family and those in need of care and attention; she was ever the diligent care giver. Even toward the end of her life when she was in need of care, she still wanted to know "what she could do for you". Aveline seemed happiest in the presence of her children and grandchildren and was always available to tend, or watch after a little one.

Born in Monroe, Utah on June 22, 1916 to Charles John Ephriam Bohman and Ellen Christina Lind Bohman she was the youngest of six children. Gertrude, Lind, Hilma, Therease, and Proctor Bohman along with her parents set an example of Christian living for Aveline from an early age. Providing kindness and service to others was more than an attitude to Aveline, it was a way of life. As a young woman, she provided care for her mother, who died of an illness when Aveline was in her early 20's. After graduation from Monroe High School she furthered her education at beauty school, receiving her license as a cosmetologist, she worked as a beautician in both Monroe, UT and Las Vegas, NV. Her family and friends continued to benefit from her skills as a beautician throughout her life. During the years of World War II, and after, she worked in Salt Lake City, at an industrial plant, and as a bank teller. Following her early life in Monroe, she moved to Salt Lake City where she met and fell in love with Dale Bennion. They were married on Sept. 21, 1952 and lived together in their home and place of business on State Street in South Salt Lake City for over 55 years until her death. As a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she devoted a great deal of time in service to others in the church and her community. She served twice as Relief Society president, and in many other callings within the church. She taught her family and those around her the meaning of true service to others by example, spending long hours serving those in need. Aveline was a wonderful cook, seamstress and homemaker for her husband and family. She was very involved in genealogy and was know in the family and in other circles, as the lady with the "family picture tree". Always teaching to her family and others, the important teachings of the gospel, and the principal of integrity, she was a true disciple of Christ.

Aveline is survived by her husband Dale H. Bennion, 92, son Al D. (Suzy) Bennion, stepson Jerry (Verna) Bennion, stepdaughter Suzanne Parsons, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Many thanks, for the loving care of family and friends, and kindness given to Aveline during the final two years of her life. Also a special thanks to the caregivers from LifePath & Inspiration Hospice, Danville Services and Home Options, particularly Cynthia Acord as well as others who treated Aveline so kindly.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday Dec. 8th at 11 a.m. at the Jenkins Soffe Mortuary 4760 South State St. in Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Mortuary for one hour prior to the service.
