Idell Louise Bailey, age 74, of Floodwood, MN, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Augustana Care Center, Moose Lake, MN. Idell was born in Benson, MN to Clyde and Roberta Bennett on August 29, 1938. She grew up in Benson and lived most of her life in northern Minnesota, moving to Floodwood in 1962. On October 2, 1954, she was married to Sam E. Bailey, Jr. in Benson, Minnesota. Idell worked as a cook at Savanna Portage and Bridgeman's in Floodwood, at Villa Vista and many other places in the Floodwood area. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood. A natural caregiver, Idell spent her life serving people. She was well known for her hospitality, her baking and her cooking. She enjoyed sewing doll clothing and she loved to draw. Her passion was taking care of her husband Sam, prior to his death in 1996.

Idell is preceded in death by her parents; son, John Bailey husband, Sam Bailey; one sister, Jeanette; three brothers, Luvern "Bud", Milton, and Roger; and step-granddaughter, Brooke Rosemore.

She is survived by four daughters, Debra Jatkola of Minneapolis, MN; Susan (Karl) Earley of Moose Lake, MN, Vicky (Randy) Rosemore of Aitkin, MN, Cindy (Wayne) Love of Mora, MN; four sons, Sam Bailey of Floodwood, Steven (Beth) Bailey of Floodwood, Ronald (Cheryl) Bailey of Floodwood, and Bradley (Balinda) Bailey of Moose Lake, MN; two sisters, Charlotte (Robert) Wheeler of Florida and Lola Guetter of North Carolina; two brothers, Roland (Marion) Bennett of Iron, MN and David (Marion) Bennett of Las Vegas, Nevada; 30 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 25th at Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood, MN. Rev. Carl L. Fiskness will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Van Buren Township.
