Ada Bennett, 94, formerly of 1016 N. 8th, died Saturday at 2:35 p.m. at Glenwood Estate nursing home where she had lived for the past 2 ½ years.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Foster, pastor of Friends Church, officiating. Interment will be directed by Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home, where friends may call until 8 p.m. tonight.
The family may be contacted at the home of Marie Whitson, 416 S. 6th.
Mrs. Bennett was born Aug. 22, 1895, in Independence, to Lewis and Christina (Clem) Swearingen. On April 25, 192, at Fredonia, she married Roy Kirkpatrick and they were later divorced. On June 29, 1941, at Fredonia, she married Leo Bennett and he died in 1965.
Mrs. Bennett attended Pleasant Hill and Quaker Schools and was a member of the Christian Church at Elk City.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie Whitson, Independence; three stepdaughters, Inez Carr and Maxine Lewis, Independence, and Janice Weber, Jacksonville, Fla.; three stepsons, Ted Bennett and Marvin Bennett, Independence, and Henry Bennett, Coffeyville; a sister, Ruby Willey, Seymour, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
