Treva Margaret Allen, the daughter of John and Margaet Wolfe Bennett was born July 6, 1893 at Linby, Iowa. She graduated from Fairfield High School and Iowa State Teachers College. She taught at Linby and Prairie Home schools for 25 years.
On January 24 1935 she married Solomon Alva Allen at her sister's home in Ottumwa. They lived in Linby and Hayesville. Her husband became a minister of the Evangelical United Brethern Church and they served pastorates at Lovillia and Sewel, Iowa until retiring to Linby in 1952.
Treva was a faithful member of the Linby Baptist Church where she taught church school and was an active church worker. She was a member of the Linby Zephyr Club.As long as her health allowed, she cared for people in their homes. In 1978 she made her home at the Manor House.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, S.A. Allen in April, 1961; one son, Robert Gail Allen in 1948; one brother, Ray Bennett of Linby; three sisters, Genevieve Clingman of Linby; Lelah Black of Ottumwa and an infant sister, Faye Bennett.
Those left to mourn her passing are one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Earlene) Molkenthin or rural What Cheer; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Claire (Ava) Kent of Iowa City and several nieces and nephews.
