Claude Bennett Sr., 67, of 2127 W. Marquette died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1992, at his home.

Born Jan. 14, 1925, in Minter City, Miss., to Tillman and Mary Taylor Bennett, he married Milzella Blake on Dec. 22, 1948, in Greenwood, Miss. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Charles of Chicago, Claude Jr. and Kelvin Lamar, both of Peoria; nine daughters, Peaches Bennett, Rosezella Gibson, Margaret Bennett, Velma Bennett and Barbara Bennett, all of Peoria, Mary Bennett of Lincoln, Alzenna "Susie" Bolden and Gwendolyn Holley, both of Springfield, and Brenda Bennett of Decatur; and two sisters, Ailean Warren of Chicago and Lena Scott of Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He retired from N.E. Finch Construction Co. in 1990.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
