He was born in Lebanon, Missouri. to Calvin and Jewell Williams Bennett. He married Judy Elaine Maiden on April 24, 1960, at Marshfield, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael D. Bennett, two grandsons, daughter-in-law, Tanya Bennett, two brothers, Russell (Kay) Bennett and Larry (Janet) Bennett and three sisters, Annetta (Dale) Griffin, Carol Joyce Bennett and Deloris (Leroy) Bates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vencey Ball and one sister, Betty Griffin.
He worked at Revere-Ware and General Cable in Monticello.
