Mrs. Betty Mae Bennett, 90, died Thursday night (September, 27, 2007) at her residence following a long illness.

She was a native of Waycross and was a lifelong resident of Manor and Millwood. She was married to the late Doll Benjamin Bennett and was the daughter of the late Junis "June" Arthur White and Betty Beatrice Brown White.

She was former owner of Bennett's Store in Millwood. She had been a member of Indian Mound Baptist Church since 1949 and was a member of Areme Chapter #101 Order of the Eastern Star.

The survivors include two daughters, Betty Gail Davis (husband Rev. Clayton) of Millwood, Wanda Peacock (husband Dub) of Waycross; two sons, Leon Eugene Bennett (wife Francine) and Huey Olen Bennett (wife Deloris) both of Millwood; 13 grandchildren, Donna Rowe (husband Jamie), Candy Thrift (husband Buddy), Regina Delk (husband Leslie), Ben Peacock (wife Jean), Bill Peacock (wife Audry), Mary Vining (husband Shawn), Pam Perritt (husband Richard), Leon Bennett (wife Alicia), Kennsel Bennett (wife Jackie), Lea Fulford, Beth Thompson (husband Ray), Jackie Carter, Steve Bennett (wife Karen); 23 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (September 30, 2007) at Indian Mound Baptist Church. Burial will be Mt. Green Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett will be carried to the church at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and remain there until the time of the funeral on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Indian Mound Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice Satilla.
