Elizabeth A. Bennett, 89, Altoona RD 1, Antis Township, died Thursday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. She was born in Antis Township, daughter of the late Albert W. and Nellie B. (Bathurst) Fleig. She married Melvin R. Bennett April 17, 1942, in Altoona. He died June 29, 1998. Surviving are a brother, Harold D. Fleig and wife, Bernese, of Altoona RD 1; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers: William and Edgar; and sisters: Bessie Hager, Ruth Fleig and Pearl Fleig. Elizabeth attended Riggles Gap Bible Church. She was a member of the Roaring Spring Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts and vegetable gardening. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. A funeral service will be be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at the funeral home with Pastor William Ice officiating. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park.
