GLADYS ESTELLE WOMACK BENNETT, 89, of Duncan, passed from this life on Thursday, August 24, 2006, in Duncan.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Duncan City Cemetery with Robert Teague officiating. Interment will be under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Gladys was born October 8, 1916, in Mead, to Horace Lloyd and Willie Jane Taylor Womack. She married Rollin "Doc" Bennett on Nov. 15, 1933, in Waurika. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1995.
Until she suffered a massive stroke in 1991, she was a devoted wife and homemaker, mother and grandmother. Gladys loved flowers and working in her yard.
She was baptized by Haskell England and was a faithful member of Prairie Hill Church of Christ, and later moved her membership to Eastside Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Barbour of Duncan, and Reba Louise Morgeson and her husband John of Gamaliel, Ark.; a sister, Edith Collinsworth of Duncan; a daughter-in-law, Linda Bennett Blackburn of Duncan; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph; a son, James "Jim" Bennett; a son-in-law, Roger "PeeWee" Barbour; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Collinsworth; a grandson, Daniel Wade; a great-grandson, Zane Frazier; and a great-granddaughter, Meredith Winton.
Honorary bearers are Roger Dale Barbour, Dean Bryant, Mike Harman, Jim Frazier, Thomas Winton and Dale Weakley.
