Betty M. (Browning) Bennett, 74, of West Lafayette, passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. Born November 8, 1939 in Harlan County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie (Kinney) Browning.
Betty worked on the assembly line at National Homes and then for Andover.
Her marriage was to Ray Bennett, Jr. and he preceded her in death on September 18, 1996. She enjoyed reading.
Surviving are her three children, Sandy Christman (husband, Ralph) of Frankfort, IN, Michael R. Bennett (wife, Emily) of Oxford, IN, and Jay Bennett (wife, Dianna) of Lafayette, IN; four sisters, Mary Thompson of Lafayette, Bertha Brewer of Tennessee, Ruth Johnson of Lafayette, IN, and Jewel Wright (husband, Tom) of Brookston, IN; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Hanna Hensley.
