OGDEN – Charles W. “Red” Bennett, 86, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2004.
He was born February 26, 1918 in Pueblo, Colorado to Samuel and Marie Frances Beatty Bennett. He was reared and educated in Colorado and Wyoming. He moved to Utah in the late thirties. He worked in the construction trades and was a member of Labor Union Local 206 for 33 years. He married Laura Eleanor Fowers on May 18, 1944; she preceded him in death on February 9, 1993.
He will be missed by his family: Linda and Russell Shafter and their children Todd, Micah and Lucinda; Virginia and the late Dennis Bennett and their children Dennis Jr., Jeff and Becky; Susan and Brad Bennett and their children Meena and Judd. He also leaves behind 12 bright and beautiful great-grandchildren.
Dad was very fond of good food, especially cookies, coffee and western omelets. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, dancing at the Golden Hours Center and family get-togethers. He will be remembered for his colorful vocabulary, his full head of red hair that he kept in a “flat-top”, his punctuality and strong work ethic.
Charles’ family wishes to thank the staff at Crestwood Care Center for the kind care given to him during his stay there.
