From a typed index card with THE PARIS NEWS, 8 Apr 1991, typed on the back, found in the Lamar County Genealogy Library: Born January 10, 1908 in Powderly, Texas to Lonzo and Dollie Mae Williams Bennett. Died April 6, 1991 in Paris, Texas. Buried in Shady Grove Cemetery. Married Alvin Odis Ballard on December 24, 1927 in Lamar Co., Texas. He died March 11, 1984. Surviving are four sons and daughter-in-laws; Edwin Dawson and Tommie Ballard of Powderly, Delbert Lawson and Mary Ballard of Quitman, Lt. Col. Tony Dale and Karen Ballard of San Antonio, Alvin Michael and Janie Ballard of Gladewater; two sisters, Ettie Graham of Ft. Worth, and Lillie Emanuel of Morro Bay, California; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Lloyd Dennis, Leroy Dennis, Marston Bennett, Ila Vickers and Lorene Dodd. Transcribed by Debra Cornett Usry.
