Cecil Laverne Bennett, Sr.
FREDERICK - Funeral for Cecil Laverne Bennett, Sr., 82, Frederick, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick with the Rev. Les Banks officiating.

Mr. Bennett died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, in Tuttle.

Burial with Masonic rites will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Frederick, to Claude Eugene and Winnie Walls Bennett. He attended Frederick Public Schools and served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He married Bonnie Lou Calvary on Dec. 1, 1948, in Vernon, Texas. He worked for Gish Home Furnishings as a hard surface floor layer for many years. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Frederick Masonic Lodge No. 249, Order of the Eastern Star and the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Laverne and Debbie Bennett Jr., Blanchard; two granddaughters and their spouses: Jennifer and Kenneth Carpenter, Moore; and Jamie and Salvador Rodriguez, Tuttle; five brothers: Terry Bennett, Altus; Marion Ray "Beaver" Bennett, Frederick; Clyde Eugene Bennett, Wichita Falls, Texas; Donald Max Bennett, Midwest City; and Larry Keith Bennett, Guthrie; two sisters: Nancy Jo Villaneuva, Frederick; and Carol Sue Sisson, Waurika; his former wife, Bonnie Bennett Chambers, Tuttle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; two brothers: Albert Wayne and Jerry Claud Bennett; and a sister, Laura May Ives.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
