NATCHEZ - Services for Daisy Pickett Bennett, 82, of Natchez, who died Sat., March 19, 2005, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Webb Funeral System.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bennett was born July 23, 1922, in Bude, the daughter of Ben and Dessie Pickett.
She was a retired beautician and a faithful and active member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church. She served on the usher board and taught Sunday School for over 50 years.
Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Bennett Sr.; a son, Nathaniel Bennett Jr.; a sister, Thelma Marshall; a brother, David Pickett; and a granddaughter, Andrea Bennett.
Survivors include daughter, Thelma Rachal and her husband, James of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sons, Willie J. Bennett of Natchez, Melvin Bennett of Los Angeles and Al V. Bennett of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of family and friends.
