David Richard Bennett of Freeland, Michigan, loving fiancé, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Friday March 23, 2012. Age 63 years. The son of the late Roy and Sarah (Howell) Bennett was born on November 7, 1948 in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors. He was a member of Old Town Christian Outreach Church, the Moose Lodge #82 in Saginaw and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1010 in Bay City. David enjoyed singing karaoke especially Johnny Cash. Surviving are his fiancé, Genii Goyett, his children; Johnie West, Dawn Bennett, Sarah (Charles) Detwiler, Dana Bennett; step-children; Gary (JoAnna) Budek, Tricia (Dean) Hitchcock, Jackie (Jeff) Fuller; grandchildren; Alex, Taylor, Javin, Daine, Sophie, Nathan, Jeffrey, Brayden and a sister Valerie Luckhard. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and a step-son Brad Budek. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at W.L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate with military honors by VFW Post 1859. Burial will take place in Ithaca Cemetery at a later date.
