Ethel M. "Bunny" Bennett, age 87, a resident of South Lebanon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2009, at Varney Crossing Nursing Home in North Berwick.
Ethel was born Dec. 5, 1921 in Somersworth, N.H., the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Cooper) Libby and attended Somersworth schools.
She was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed cake decorating, cooking and sewing.
Mrs. Bennett attended the Eliot Baptist Church and loved teaching children during Vacation Bible School for years at Grace Baptist Church in East Rochester, N.H.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Elbert H. "Bob" Bennett in 2007, and a son, Wayne Bennett, who also died in 2007. She was also predeceased by a sister, Christine.
She is survived by her son, Dana Bennett and his wife, Patricia, of Rochester, N.H., and a daughter-in-law, Holly Bennett of East Rochester, N.H.; six grandchildren, Angela Knight and husband, Paul, David Bennett and wife, Katie, Amanda, Amberle, John and Josh Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Emilee and Zachary Knight; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick.
