MRS. RAYMOND BENNETT
DIED - At her home, 3½ miles southeast of LaHarpe, Monday morning, 7:25 o'clock, April 15, 1918 Mrs. Lillie (Mesecher) Bennett, wife of Raymond A. Bennett, aged 50 years and 13 days.
Mrs. Bennett's maiden name was Lillie Amina Mesecher. She was born in Sciota township, McDonough Co., April 2, 1868. She was married to Raymond A. Bennett Nov. 15, 1885. They have lived in this vicinity since except for three years near Roseville.
Eleven children were born to them all living but one, Clyde, who died at the age of nine months. The living are: Mrs. Ida Helmer, Mrs. Virgie Davis, Will., Ira, Lorenzo, Elmer, Mrs. Cora Harding, Mrs. Nellie Jones, George and Homer. Of her parents family there is one half sister, Mrs. A. J. White, of Sioux City, Iowa, her brothers and sisters Mrs. Belle Stoops, of Busch, Mo. Charles R., of Oceola, Wisconsin, Arthur and Guy of this city.
Mrs. Bennett had been a member of the Christian church and a faithful attendant for many years upon church and Sunday School services. She was also a worker in the Country Club of her locality. She was od a social nature and made friends of all who knew her. Her death is a sad loss to her family and to a host of friends.
