Mrs. Leta K. Bennett, 82, of La Harpe died Saturday Feb. 24, 1979 at 4:15 p.m. at La Harpe Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Banks and Beals funeral Home in La Harpe Christian Church, Norman Howard officiating. Burial was in La Harpe Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett was born Jan. 23, 1897 the daughter of Theo and Sidney (Lovitt) Albaugh. She married Elmer Bennett at Carthage June 28, 1916; he died Feb. 1, 1967.
She was a member of the La Harpe Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and of the La Harpe American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Lisle, Harold and Dean, all of La Harpe; three daughters, Mrs. Gerrard (Mary Eileen) Rouse of Macomb, Mrs. Lorain Griffith of Canton and Mrs. Patsy Carmean of Burlington, Iowa; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lowell.
Music for the memorial service was provided by Mrs. Keith Fowler, organist and Mrs. James Sparrow, soloist.
Casket bearers were Jack Overhulser, Glenn Gleason, J.C. Nudd, Murrell Purdy, Bill Cox and Wayne Carey.
