She retired from Bi-Lo of DuBois after 19 years of employment. In earlier years, she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Clarion. Mrs. Benn was of the Methodist faith. She was an avid reader. She was married May 12, 1961, to Donald D. Benn, who preceded her in death in January 1992. She is survived by four children, Donald Benn and his wife, Jennifer, of Falls Creek; Lisa Benn of DuBois, Denise Kawecki and her husband, Michael, of Longmont, Colo., and Diane Kahle and her husband, Patrick, of Sligo; and two grandchildren, Jaysa Kawecki of Longmont, Colo., and Allison Benn of Falls Creek. Survivors also include three sisters, Gladys Taylor of Shippenville, Louise Kifer of Reidsburg and Doris Stiltner of Sligo; five brothers, Ron Over and his wife, Shirley, Don Over and his wife, Joanne, Carl Over, Vern Over, and Glenn "Windy" Over and his wife, Doothy, all of Sligo; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Benn of Clarion. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James R. Benn; and a brother-in-law, William Benn. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Zilhaver, pastor of the Lakeside United Methodist Church of DuBois, officiating. Interment will be in Sligo Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 59 N. Crescent Drive, Hermitage, 16148.
