JEANETTE ELIZABETH BEEBE World Traveler, Artist and Writer died September 17, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Alvin; her children, Christina, Darien, Lucinda and Terrance; her brother, Roger Benn, and sister, Charlotte Luce. She was 90 years old. Jeanette was born in Michigan. She received a B.A. degree from Colby College in Maine. During WWII she served with the American Red Cross as a medical social worker in Hawaii, Guam and the South Pacific. She loved Hawaii, where she met and married Al. Jeanette and Al moved to the East Bay in 1951, where she worked as a social worker and then went into teaching. She was active in the East Bay art community and she enjoyed traveling, painting, writing and, most of all, her family. A memorial service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church on Fargo Avenue in San Leandro on Saturday, September 25, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Red Cross.
