Ethel Lena Benefield Earley, 94 of 1305 Collard Valley Road in Cedartown, passed away Friday, April 1, 2005. She was born on March 29, 1911. Mrs. Earley was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and John Henry Benefield, her husband William (Bryant) Earley, her daughter Faye Marie Earley Morgan, a baby son William Billy Earley, and three brothers N.R. Benefield, Wesley Benefield, and Preston Benefield. She is survived by her daughters Ann E. Spencer, Peggie E. Kirkpatrick, her sons Ray Earley, Tommy Earley, and Jerry Earley, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, along with a number of nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law Beatrice Benefield. The funeral services were conducted on Sunday April 3 at 2 p.m. at the Collard Valley Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Beck officiating and the music by Mrs. Janice Colquitt Stewart. Pallbearers were her grandsons. The internment followed at Polk Memory Gardens. The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
