Mrs. Lavada Louise Benefield, age 83, of Santa Paula, CA formerly of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, February 15 in Ventura, CA. She was born September 11, 1911 in Arkansas to the late Seth and Cleo Croy Coffey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Garden Club and a housewife and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Benefield and a brother, Jack Coffey. Survivors: three sons, Kenneth Benefield and Keith Benefield both of Santa Paula, CA and Raymond Benefield of Hot Springs, Village, AR; a daughter, Louise Westburg of Hot Springs Village, AR; three brothers, George Coffey and James ''Jim" Coffey both of Dardanelle, AR and Edward Coffey of Augora Fields, CA: five sisters, Adaline McCurdy, Polly Merritt and Betty Scott all of Dardanelle; May Jones of Burlington, OK and May Ann Bullad of Tulsa, OK; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Dardanelle with Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle.
