Age 56. Passed away April 5, 1968 in St. Mary's Hospital.- Mr. Benedict was born in Czechoslovakia on April 11, 1911 and came to Racine 54 years ago. For the past 12 years he was in partnership in the Industrial Pattern and Model Works and previously worked for the Wisconsin Pattern Works. He was a member of St. Rita's Parish, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Third Order of St. Augustine, Holy Name Society, Pattern Makers Union and American Foundry Association.
Surviving are his wife, Mary V. (Knotek); two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. (Donna) Benedict Jr., Racine and Ronald at home; four daughters and one son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent F. (Elizabeth Ann) Konicek, Jacqueline, at home, Sister Albert Mary, O.P., Santa Fe., New Mexico and Mary Louise at home: five grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph (Stella) Benedict and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Susie) Benedict; one sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Russell (Ann) Nelson; nieces, nephews and other near relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 9:30 a.m. in the Strouf-Sheffield Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Rita's Church, Rev. Edwin Haeussler, O.S. A. officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Friends may call at the STROUF-SHEFFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 1001 High St., Sunday after 4 p.m. The Rosary will be recited Sunday evening, 7 o'clock, in the funeral home. Memorials to St. Rita's building fund have been suggested.
