Angela K. Benedek, 85, of Howell, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at home. Mrs. Benedek was born in and had lived in Jersey City before moving to Howell in 1996. She worked as a secretary for Pacific Intermountain Express, Teamsters Local #501, Union City, retiring in 1985.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Benedek, in 1996; and her brother, Vito, in 1999. Mrs. Benedek is survived by four sons, Joseph F. Benedek Jr of Freehold Township, Robert Benedek of Kissimmee, Fla., Martin Benedek of Bayonne, and Paul Benedek of Hazlet; eight grandchildren, Martin Jr., Sara, Melanie, Julie, Michele, James, Robin, and Jennifer; a goddaughter, Francine Serpico; her caregiver, Dorothy; and her relatives in the Garguilo, Cestaro, Bufano, Grimaldi and Malvasi families.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 at the funeral home for her rite of commital, followed by her 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Ave., Farmingdale. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
