Mrs. Frances Louise Wright Benderman, 85, a long-time resident of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 23, 2010 at the Lynchburg Nursing Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Mrs. Benderman was born on May, 18, 1924 in Eagle Rock, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Everett Wright, Sr., a brother, Everett, Jr., and a sister, Martha. Mrs. Benderman was a graduate of the Stonewall Jackson High School and the Charleston Business School. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ray Benderman; three children: Glenn (Angela) Benderman of Wynne, Arkansas, Wanda (Tom) Martin of Charleston, South Carolina, and Patsy (Carl) Rankin of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren: Seth Martin of Blacksburg, Virginia, Cyrus Martin of Salem, Virginia, Cathleen Benderman and Hannah Benderman, both of Wynne Arkansas: two step-grandsons: Dustin Rankin of Columbus, Ohio and Jerimie (Tiffany) Rankin of Delaware, Ohio, and one step-great-grandson, Cole Rankin. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Margaret Hickman and Shirley Binkley, and a brother-in-law Bill Binkley; and twelve nieces and nephews: Johnny Benderman, Faye Andrews, Patricia Jarrell, Wesley Benderman, Margo Andrews, Debbie Benderman, Janice Dietz, Bill Dietz, Kathy Wilson, Betty Lovelace, Taylor Binkley and Forrest Binkley; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Benderman will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 29, 2010 in Lynchburg at the Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 181 Majors Boulevard. Funeral services will be conducted in the Jennings Moore-Cortner Chapel at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 30th, officiated by Rev. William A. Mulroy of the First United Methodist Church. Burial and graveside services, officiated by Rev. Gilly Andrews will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee. Pallbearers are Glenn Benderman, Carl Rankin, Tom Martin, Seth Martin, Cyrus Martin, Dustin Rankin, Johnny Benderman, and Wesley Benderman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to any of the following: the Alzheimer's Association (4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215), the American Cancer Society (2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203), or the First United Methodist Church of Lynchburg (65 Mechanic Street North, Lynchburg, TN 37352-8328).
