OBIT Columbia Herald dated Dec. 22, 1898: Mrs. John Benderman of Ettaton, husband and five children survive, daughter of Med Coffey of Campbell Station, Cumberland Presbyterian.
OBIT Columbia Herald dated Dec. 23, 1898: Quality Creek, Dec: 18 - Since our last, the Angel of Death has visited our neighborhood and claimed for its own the spirit of Mrs. Ella Benderman, wife of Mr. John Benderman. She died on Dec. 13, after several weeks of intense suffering. She leaves to mourn her loss's husband and five little children, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Her remains were laid to rest at Reece's graveyard Wednesday evening at 3 o'clock, to await the resurrection morn. Mrs. Benderman was loved by all who knew her. We extend to the bereaved ones our deepest sympathy in their great loss.
We loved her, yes, no tongue can tell
How much we loved her or how well.
God loved her too, and He thought best
To take her home to heaven to rest.
NOTE: No engraved marker was found for Ella. Perhaps this fieldstone, just to the left of John, marks her grave. Or this fieldstone could be any number of Bendermans "believed to be buried" in Reeses or it could be just a rock.
