J. Lester Bender, of Silver Spring, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday morning while on his way to work. Born and reared in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Annie F. (Delauney) Bender.
He is survived by his wife, Alice G. Bender; daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Barhan; sons, Charles D., Earl L., Henry R., and Claude F., all of Silver Spring; sisters, Mrs. Rose Wyand, Keedysville; Mrs. Clytie Gigous, Sharpsburg; and Mrs. Ruben Forbes, Milton, Pa.
Funeral services were held at the Leaf Funeral Home, Sharpsburg; burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
