Magdalena (Lena) Bender passed away on April 7, 1877. Lena was predeceased by her husband Jacob Bender in 1843. Survived by two daughters, Marie Jutzi and Barbara Schlegel; four sons, Christian, Jacob, David and Daniel. Predeceased by three infant children in Germany; Samuel (1824-1825), Barbara (1828-1829) and infant son(1831); and two sons, John 1874 and Samuel 1857.
"1816 the 30th of March, I married a born Brenneman and is named Magdalena. May the Lord be willing to help us and be our support in our marriage, that we may live together in holiness and unity to a blessed end. 30th March 1816 in the Principality of Hesse in Germany." P.S. According to historian and geneologist Lorraine Roth, an authority on Amish Mennonites of Ontario, Lena's parents were Samuel Brenneman and Marie Schwartzentruber.
