John David Benden died 9 Dec 1976 in Altoona at the age of 73 years
J. David Benden, of 2823 Beal Ave., died unexpectedly at 6:10 a.m. yesterday, Dec 9, 1976, at his home. Mr. Benden retired in 1968 from the Ward Trucking Corp., where he was employed as a diesel mechanic. He was born Dec 23, 1903, in Altoona, a son of James H. and Annie E. (Kough) Benden, and married Martha Lois Wissinger on Dec 24, 1932. Surviving are his wife, a son, Ronald D. or Washington D.C., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Francis Snyder, Mrs. Florence Marie Artley and Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Artley of Bentonville, Ark. Friends will be received in the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 10;30 a.m. tomorrow.
BENDEN -- Services for J. David Benden of 2823 Beale Ave. will be held in the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Donald H. Crawford. Interment in Alto-Reste Burial Park. Friends will be received in the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and d7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of service.
