Dora Frances Benavídez, age 55 a resident of Montezuma, NM for 45 years and formerly of Tuscon, AZ passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. Dora was born in Tucson, AZ on December 20, 1958 to Ramon J. Benavídez and Dora F. Nuñez.
Dora worked as a OB Tech at the Old Las Vegas Hospital for 22 years.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Dora Benavídez, brothers and sisters, Susan C. Benavídez, Raymond A. Benavídez and John Timothy Benavídez.
Dora is survived by her brother, Jesse J. Benavídez of Montezuma, NM, sisters, María and Chris Contreras of Albuquerque, NM, Esperanza and Dennis Solano of Montezuma, NM, Elizabeth Benavídez of Montezuma, NM, special friend, Christin Quintana of Mora, NM and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Douglas Mitchell as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Cemeterio de Jesús, María y José in Montezuma, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Cody Benavídez, Anthony Benavídez, John Solano, Jesse Benavídez, Julian Quintana and Jacob Quintana. Serving as Honorary bearers will be Celestino Benavídez and Chris J. Contreras.
