Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, Tuesday, March 4, 2003

Barbara A. Cothran, 89, Iberia, died March 2, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach. She was born July 29, 1913, in Iberia, a daughter of Ernest E. and Cora Mace Benage. She was married Oct. 17, 1936, in Carlinsville, Ill., to Dudley Cothran, who died Jan. 31, 1987.

She was a graduate of Iberia Academy and Washington University's School of Nursing at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. She retired from Swift and Company in St. Louis before returning to Iberia.

Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Onstott, Iberia, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. William Knudson will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to the Washington University School of Nursing.
