Yvonne Elizabeth (Matson) Beltran was born July 20, 1965 to Walfred and Mildred Matson in the small town of Moose Lake MN.
She was raised along with her six brothers and two sisters in rural Hinckley, MN and graduated from Sandstone High School in the Spring of 1983. Yvonne went on to obtain her bookkeeping and accounting degrees at Pine Technical College in Pine City and Wadena Technical College. After graduating college, Yvonne moved out west to Pasco, WA where she met and married Adelfo Ramirez, the father to her three children Miguel, Sofia, and Rosanna. Their time together was short as Adelfo passed away due to a motor vehicle accident on April 14th, 1993. After the passing of her husband, Yvonne moved back to Minnesota and settled into a cozy home in Sandstone where she raised her children as a single mom. About six years later Yvonne found love again and eventually married Armando Beltran on October 12th, 2002. She worked for Community Involvement Programs as a program counselor/house manager, and later on moved up to be an Administrative Manager for a total of 20 years. She was also lifetime member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church of Finlayson. Yvonne was a kind, caring, and wise woman. Her love and advice helped countless people get through tough times and her joy and passion brought smiles to everyone. Along with extreme thrift store shopping, her hobbies included drawing, painting, sewing, crocheting, organizing, playing farm ville, and singing. She always thought of others first and was the first person to extend a warm and welcome hand to those in need. A true angel on Earth, Yvonne will be greatly missed, but forever remembered through those she has touched.
Yvonne is preceded in death by husband Adelfo Ramirez and mother Mildred Matson.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Armando; her son, Miguel; her two daughters, Sofia and Rosanna; her father, Walfred Matson of Hinckley MN; brothers, Ken Matson (Linda) of Watertown, SD, Wayne Matson(Louise) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Rick Matson (Charlene) of Texas, Mike Matson (Karla) of LaCenter,Washington, Tom Matson (Marie) of Hinckley MN and Matt Matson(Kari) of Hinckley MN; sisters, Pam Matson of Hinckley and Lynnae Amezcua of Wyoming MN; numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; her dog, Yogi and cat, Mittens.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Sandstone with Pastor Andrew Tumberg officiating. Musicians are Sofia Ramirez, Rosanna Ramirez, Jonathon Rojas, Esmeralda Villanueva, Emily Gomez, Christa Gomez and Louise Amberg. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Methven Funeral Home in Sandstone; also one hour prior to the service at the church. Casketbearers are Roy Matson, Joshua Matson, Jonathon Rojas, Abel Amezcua, Jeremy Matson, Patrick Matson, Craig Matson and Ramon Quintana. Interment at Finnish Lutheran Cemetery in Finlayson, MN.
