Pioneer Woman Dies on Tuesday
Mrs. Eliza Bell Alcorn of Fairview Enjoyed Wide Acquaintance.
Mrs. Eliza Bell Alcorn, widow of John F. Alcorn of Fairview, west of the city, died at 7 o'clock last evening at the home of her son, Glenn M. Alcorn, Riverside Drive, Oil City, following illness of four years from heart trouble. The deceased was born in Rockland township, Venango county, on October 30, 1864, and she was married to Mr. Alcorn on March 17, 1890. All of her married life was spent on the farm at Fairview and she enjoyed a large acquaintance in that community among whom she war, held in high esteem. To Mr. and Mrs. Alcorn were born the following children who survive: Glenn M., at whose home she died, Donald E., of Titusville and Park O. Alcorn of New Castle. There is a brother, Albert Bell of Copley, O., and a sister, Mrs. Mary Carr Of Randolph, N. Y. The deceased was a member of the Fairview M. E. church and Cherrytree Grange at Breedtown. A prayer service will be held at the home of the son in Oil City, Friday, at 1 p. m., followed by services in the Fairview church at 2:30 p. m., with Rev. R. K. Rumbaugh of Seneca M. E. church, officiating. The interment will be made in the church cemetery.
