Rites for Two Lisco Women Wednesday
Summary
Broadwater – Joint services will be held Wednesday, for Mrs. Carrie E. Grabher, 75, and her great-niece, Mrs. Alice L. Bell, 30, both of Lisco.
The two women were killed in an auto accident 10 miles S of Gillette, WY. Buddy Edward Bell, son of the driver, escaped serious injury. Services will be at the Broadwater Presbyterian Church, burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Broadwater.
Mrs. Grabher was born in Lineville, IA, married William Archer in Alliance in 1904 and in 1906 they moved to 30 miles SE of Alliance. Mr. Archer died in 1942, she moved to Lisco and married Mike Grabher of Hemingford in 1944, he died in 1958. Survivors include a brother, Charles Ewing of Broadwater; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Gray of Broadwater.

Mrs. Bell was born 21 Feb 1930 in Alliance, married Leslie E Bell on 21 Jun 1953 at Las Vegas and they lived in Paso Robles, CA until 1959 when they moved to Lisco. Survivors include her husband and son; her mother, Mrs. Olive Ewing of Springfield, MO; father, Elson Rice; 3 brothers, Donald and Gene Rice, both of Broadwater, Dale Rice of Newport, RI; a sister, Mrs. Glenda Gann of Billings, MT (maybe MO)

In Traffic Accident
Summary
Two Lisco residents were killed in a traffic accident near Gillette, WY, Saturday, 2 Jul, Mrs. Carrie Grabher and her great-niece, Mrs. Alice Bell. They collided with a vehicle driven by Jack Cundall of Glendive, MT. It appeared the Cundall car was attempting to pass another car and did not see the Bell car.
Mrs. Grabher and Mrs. Bell were well known in Broadwater, a number of relatives live in the town. A memorial has been set up at Broadwater for the Rose Hill Cemetery fund.
Carrie Ewing, daughter of John and Melissa Ewing was born 13 Sep 1884. She came to Western NE in 1900 and in 1904 married Wm. Archer at Alliance. In 1906 they moved to a homestead 30 miles SE of Alliance and 20 miles N of Broadwater. Mr. Archer died in 1942 and following his death she moved to Lisco. In 1948, Mrs. Archer married Mike Grabher of Hemingford, he died July 1958. Surviving one brother, Charles Ewing of Broadwater; 1 sister, Mir Lily Gray of Broadwater and a number of nieces and nephews.
