Doris M. Bell of Commerce City, Colo., died February 12, 1998, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1918 to Ralph and Edna Weaver at the Weaver Homestead Farm near Alexandria. She graduated from Alexandria High School, Hebron Academy and Peru State Teachers College.
She began her teaching career of over 40 years at Dist. 39, two miles north of Hebron on U.S. 81. She also taught at Omaha, North Platte and Commerce City.
She and her husband, A. Robert Bell, observed their 51st wedding anniversary last month.
Other survivors include: daughter, Donna McKim; sons, Bill, Jim and Joan, Bob and Vicki, all of Colorado; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy Weaver of Cocoa, Fla., Blaine Weaver of Alexandria/Mission, Texas, and sister, Wilda Wilson of Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Frances Higel.
Following crematon, ashes will be scattered by Lake Granby, Colo. and Alexandria Community Cemetery, Alexandria.
