Laura Bell (Geoffrey) Beazly, 56, Mansfield, a former missionary nurse to Indiana, died August 19, 1955 at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, shortly after being admitted. Funeral services were held at Mansfield Methodist Church with burial in Mansfield Cemetery.
She was born December 20, 1898 near Ivesdale, the d/o Samuel and Sarah Alderson Bell. She spent her early life in the White Heath Community and graduated in 1918 from Champaign High School.
After attending Illinois State Normal University and Illinois Wesley University she taught school for several years. Later she completed nurse's training in Colorado Springs and in 1929 she went to India as a missionary nurse returning to the States in 1935.
On January 24, 1937 she married Geoffrey Beazly, Mansfield, who survives. She also leaves two sons: Samuel, 17; and Brenton, 14, both at home; two sisters: Mrs. Edith Olson, Monticello; and Mrs. Ethel Corley Vanderburg, Phoenix AZ; and three brothers: Walter Bell, Seymour; Earl Bell, Urbana; and Harley Bell, Elmhurst.
