Doris Jeanene (Myers) Bell, the daughter of Leo and Imo (Clemmensen) Myers, was born March 9, 1933 in Adair, Iowa and died on July 25, 2004 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 71 years. Doris was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic. She attended country school, Atlantic High School and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She was employed by Savory & DeKay Law Firm in Atlantic, Minneapolis Moline in Omaha, Nebraska, a veterinary lab in Ames, Iowa and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic where she was a member. On December 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to John P. Bell at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They farmed east of Atlantic for 47 years. During this time, she was a leader of the Glad Girls of Grove 4-H Club for 20 years. Doris truly lived for her family, friends and community. Preceding her in death were her parents, Leo and Imo Myers. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, John P. Bell of Atlantic; her children, Tami and Bill Nooning of Westminster, CO, Joni and Don Johnson of Aurora, CO, Jim and Barb Bell of Atlantic, Mike Bell of Auburn, WA, Lisa and Glen Weaver of Lafayette, CO and Tressa and Tim Stohs of Northglenn, CO; 16 grandchildren; her brother and wife Dale and Sheryl Myers of Atlantic; her sister and husband Charlotte and Marvin Behrends of Atlantic; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
