Effie L. Alford, 90, of White Springs, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 in White Springs, Fla. Effie was born April 11, 1922 in the Day Community of Lafayette County, Fla, to the late Wilford Bell and the late former Maud Morgan Bell. She lived most of her life in Lafayette County and Mayo. She moved to Columbia County in 2004 to be near family.

Effie was a homemaker for her family and was a long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mayo. She graduated from Mayo High School with the great class of 1940.

She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Lee and husband Robert, of White Springs, Fla; her granddaughter, Shawn (Mark) Stephens and their children, Wyatt and Laci, of Checotah, OK; her son, Benjamin Folsom and wife Judith, and their children, Ben III and Seth, of Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Maud Bell, her brother, Charles and her sister, Adetha; the father of her children, Frank Folsom and her husband, A.V. Alford.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 10 a.m. with Bro. Todd Babione officiating. A visitation was held from 5:30 - 8 p.m. service at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.

Effie L. Alford, 90, of White Springs, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 in White Springs, Fla.
