Wenatchee World - Wednesday, May 12, 2010
Claudia F. Bell, 82, went to join her heavenly Father on May 10, 2010, at 6:20 p.m., at Central Washington Hospital, after fighting a chronic battle with pneumonia. She was born November 29, 1927, in Ada, OK, joining her parents, Delbert and Pearl Thompson. She had four brothers and two sisters. Her family moved to the Manson area for work in 1943. Claudia met Loy C. Bell working in a Manson area fruit shed. Loy says that from that day, the argument was on, deciding if she was going to go out with Loy or someone else. They were married in 1944. She worked beside Loy "Rusty" all through her life. She would run an orchard crew and still make it home to cook and take care of her husband and family. Her greatest accomplishment was being a fabulous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. There was nothing more important to her than her family and her relationship with God.
She is survived by her husband, Loy C. Bell; her children, Wanda Maxson and Pete of Malaga, Peggy Pipkin and Darold of Malaga, Loy D. Bell and Kim of Malaga, Donnie Bell of Bainbridge Island and Carla Davis and Randy of Yakima. She leaves behind 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; her surviving brother, L.B. Thompson and wife, Bessie of Everett; and sister, Patsy Villines of Everett. She is also survived by many loving nieces, cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Pearl Thompson; parents-in-law, Lidge and Callie Bell; brothers, Earl D. Thompson, Garriel Dean Thompson and Gary Jean Thompson; her sister, Nathalee Villines; her brothers-in-law, Bill Bell and Larry Bell; sister-in-law, Kathy Bell; and grandchild, Jerrod Nickolas Bell.
