ZELMA I. GRIFFIN - Wednesday - March 12, 1997
Chelan - Zelma I. Griffin, 75, a 46-year resident of the Lake Chelan area, died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at Regency Manor Convalescent Center following an extended illness.
She was born March 29, 1921, at Judsonia, Ark., the daughter of Samuel C. and Nancy M. (Fife) Bell. She spent her early years there where she attended school.
On Dec. 23, 1936, she married Robert A. Griffin at Searcy, Ark. They moved to Chelan Falls in 1951. Mrs. Griffin worked seasonally for Cascadian Fruit Co. until she retired. Mr. Griffin preceded her in death in April 1991.
She is survived by four sons, James R. and Terry L., both of East Wenatchee, Rex A. and Jerry W., both of Wenatchee; two daughters, Wanda Cook-Evans, Wenatchee, and Nona Heyen, Three Lakes; one brother, Wallace Bell, Searcy, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and two sisters.
Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
