Bernice Fountain (Hoge) Bell, 78, of 3573 Lyndhurst Road, Lyndhurst, Virginia, departed this life on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, unexepectedly at 4:10 p.m. at her residence.
She was born March 6, 1929, in Augusta County, the daughter of Hampton and Nellie Wells Hoge. She was a dedicated member of Beulah Baptist Church, a Deaconess, a member of the choir, a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship Ministry and a member of the Ministers, Deacons, Stewards and Laymans Union. She was give the Community Service Award in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, George R. Bell Jr.; and two brothers, James Hoge and Hampton Hoge Jr.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Minister George Russell Bell of Lyndhurst; one son, David Jeffery Bell of Staunton and his wife, Catherine; one daughter, Brenda Elaine Donaldson of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister, Annie Mae Archie of Waynesboro; one daughter-in-law, Rosa Bell; three grandsons, Stanley Donaldson Jr., David J. Bell Jr. and Daniel O. Bell; three granddaughters, Stacey Elaine Donaldson, Tylanika Bell and Angela Bell; one great-granddaughter, Tiffany L. Mitchel; many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, at the Beulah Baptist Church in Lyndhurst, Virginia with the Reverend Beulah Spellman presiding. Eulogy will be given by Minister George R. Bell. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The body will be at the church two hours before service.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
