Chico Daily Record, Thursday Morning, October 4, 1906, pg 4 col 6: Fred Bell Dies From Hemorrhage. Fred Bell, son of Mrs. H.T. Bell of Nord, died last night about midnight at a local hospital, the cause of his untimely passing being a hemorrhage of the brain. The young man had been ill for several days with a malarial ailment, but his condition was not deemed serious until three of four days ago.
Deceased was a native of this county, aged 31 years, and was a hardworking, energetic, gentlemanly young man, whom all esteemed highly. He leaves a mother, three brothers and four sisters, and was a cousin of Mrs. J.C. Daly of Chico.

Chico Daily Record, Friday Morning, October 5, 1906, pg 5 col 4: Fred Bell Funeral. The funeral of Fred Bell will take place this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the family home about four miles northwest of Chico. The services will be conducted by Rev. White.
