Funeral services were held at the Dry Bayou Pentecostal Church Tuesday afternoon for Leonard Sampson Bell, who died at his home near Wolf Bayou on Sunday, April 20, at the age of 71. Sister Juanita Evans conducted the service and burial was in Maple Cemetery, this city, with H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Bell was born at Athens, Ala. on August 8, 1880 and moved to Pemiscot county from Tennessee in 1905. On January 29, 1945, he was married to Teda Slaten at Blytheville, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Columbus Bell of this city and Pate Bell of Peters Landing, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Boyle of Olive Hill, Tenn. and Mrs. Mattie Hamilton of Clifton, Tenn.; three step-sons and one step-daughter.
