Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the Smith Funeral Home for Mrs. Minnie Garner Bell, who died Saturday afternoon, April 30, in the Blytheville Hospital following the amputation of one of her limbs, following blood poisoning infection. The Rev. D.K. Foster of the Baptist Church in this city had charge of the service which was largely attended by friends of the deceased. Mrs. Bell was born May 5, 1880, and died April 30, 1938, being 57 years, 11 months and 15 days old at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Sam Bell; three brothers, Henry and Lewis Garner of Hayti, and Eulie Garner of Portageville; and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Fotser, Blytheville, and Mrs. Esther New, Hayti. Mrs. Minnie Bell, 58, wife of Samuel Bell of Concord died at Walls Hospital in Blytheville Saturday night after being ill for some time of blood poisoning. Her right leg was amputated at the hospital that morning and death followed at 6:45 that evening. She is survived by Mr. Bell; two sisters, Mrs. Esther New of Hayti and Mrs. Alice Foster of Blytheville and three brothers, Henry a Louis Garner of Hayti and Eulie Garner of Portageville. Funeral services were held at Smith Chapel at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon by the Rev. D.K. Foster. Interment was in Little Prairie cemetery. Pallbearers were all Mrs. Bell's nephews, John and Welch Foster of Blytheville, Howard New of Memphis, Kenneth and Jack New of Concord, and Tom Johnson of Hayti.
