Wife of Local Cleaner Dies
Mrs. Maggie Mae Bell, 53 year old wife of Thomas E. Bell of 204 West Seventh Street, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine hospital in Indiana Harbor, where she was taken Sunday. She has been ill nine-months and death was attributed to carcinoma.
Mr. Bell is the senior member of the Bell and Son cleaning establishment where Mrs. Bell worked on West Seventh Street.
The body has been taken to the Weir funeral home where it is to remain until funeral arrangements are completed.
Survivors in addition to the husband, include the parents, Mr. & Mrs. George Wagoner of Borden, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Ruff of East Chicago, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Cleo Callan of Borden, Mrs. Frank Durham and Mrs. Louise Haufriter of Chicago, Omer Wagoner of Bloomington, Elmer Wagoner of New Albany and Gussie, Alfred, Curtis, Marshall, Louis and John Wagoner, all of Borden.
Three grandchildren also survive. They are Raymond and Lorin Ruff of East Chicago and Bonnie Jean Bell of Bloomington. Mrs. Bell's son, Paul, died on April 3,1938.

Bell Funeral Rites Friday
At 10 o'clock Friday morning at the First Christian church, the Rev. W. E. Moore will conduct funeral services for Mrs. Maggie May Bell, 53-year-old resident of 204 West Seventh Street and wife of Thomas E. Bell.
Special music during the services will be under the direction of Mrs. Florence VonPilson. Pallbearers will be Paul Godsey, Leland Bell, Joseph Wagoner, James Wagoner, Kenneth Wagoner and Harry Haufriter. Flower bearers will be Mrs. Margaret Godsey, Mrs. Opal Parrish, Mrs. Nola McDaniels, Mrs. Lula Craig, Mrs. Katheryn Lawson and Mrs. Frances Dunkel.
The body is to remain at the home of Mrs. Bell's brother, Omer Wagoner at 602 West Wylie Street until 9:30 o'clock Friday morning. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Bell died Tuesday morning at the St. Catherine hospital in Indiana Harbor after an illness of nine months. Survivors include the husband, who is the senior member in the local Bell and Sons cleaning establishment; the parents of Borden, Ind.; one daughter, one son, three sisters, eight brothers and three grandchildren.
